In 2009 the Illinois JusticeCorps program was founded as a pilot program located at the Daley Center. In 2012 the program received AmeriCorps funding and was overseen by the Chicago Bar Foundation only to be shifted to the Illinois Bar Foundation in 2014 when additional funding was received by the Serve Illinois Commission, allowing expansion outside Cook County and throughout the state of Illinois. Today the program operates in 17 locations across Illinois.
